K1PAR AMATEUR RADIO SITE

Welcome to my amateur radio, also known as ham radio, web site.
Since the early 90's I have enjoyed being an amateur radio operator
and have talked to other hams around the world. My first license call sign
was KA1UFB and when I received my extra class license I changed to a
call sign of AA1XL. Shortly after that I applied for and received a vanity
call sign of K1PAR.
K1PAR Amateur Radio Station

My amateur radio station is a simple set up with two high frequency (or hf) radios
and a VHF(or 2 meter radio). I use a 102' G5RV wire antenna, a Spi-ro multi-band
sloping antenna, a Diamond X-50A 2 meter antenna and plans call for one more
2 meter antenna. I also use a Dell Dimension 4550 computer and N3FJP
logging software.

One thing I enjoy about amateur radio is exchanging QSL cards. A
QSL Card is a way to confirm contact between amateur radio stations.
They can be sent through the mail or done elctronically. Contacts can
also be confirmed electronically through the Logbook of the World where
no QSL Cards are exchanged.
